PKRA Stop Australia Tag 5

Having fun Australian style

It was yet another beautiful day here on the Australian Gold Coast. Even though the wind decided to tease us by coming in and out most of the day, riders as well as tourists, locals and hundreds of beach goers indulged some of Mother Nature’s perfect gifts such as beautiful blue skies, sunshine and surf while waiting for the wind to kick in for some thrilling kiteboarding action.

A couple of attempts were made to run the wave discipline today however the wind was uncooperative. Most of the competitors that were on stand-bye spent the biggest part of the day chilling in the sun, standup paddling, and surfing. After hearing from race director, Olaf Van Tol that the competition will be postponed until more suitable wind conditions are present, Mitu Monteiro grabbed his surfboard and rushed out on the water for a morning surf session. Later on in the day Monteiro was out yet again on his 12m kite having fun in the waist high waves while eagerly anticipating the wind to comeback.

Some riders were still pretty chipper considering their super late night after the fashion show at the Temple where beautiful girls modeled sexy bikini apparel and danced the night away at the hottest after parties. Surfers Paradise is known for the young crowds looking for a good time and most are having the time of their lives here in Australia.

Tomorrow’s wind forecast is looking great therefore the mandatory riders meeting is set for 8:00am.
